My hero is VASNETSOV Viktor Mihaylovitch (1848-1926), a Russian artist. He played a great role in the development of Russian art from realism of the 19th century to stiletto modernist style. His most famous paintings are: "Alenushka" (1881), "Bogatyri" (1881-98), "Snegurochka".
I chose this hero because I love drawing and I love his pictures very much. He painted beautiful pictures!
At first he studied at the theological seminary in Vyatka (1862-67), then, acquiring a passion for art, he entered the drawing school of Petersburg Society of the Encouragement of Art, where he studied in 1867-68. There he learned painting under the direction of I.N. Kramskoy. He improved his skills in the Petersburg Academy of Art in 1868-75. He was a member of the Peredvizhniki (19th century Russian realist school with democratic tendencies) since 1878.
