Anne Frank wrote in her diary on July 15, 1944, "It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet, I cling to them because of everything, that people are truly good at heart." That a young girl like Anne would be able to write something so compassionate, after all the horrible things she'd witnessed and endured during the Holocaust, is remarkable. Anne Frank, or Annelies Marie Frank, was born into the family of Otto and Edith Frank on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany. She was a German-Jewish teenager who was forced into hiding with her family, and eventually died in a concentration camp. Anne Frank is an inspiring girl, because of the impact her diary had on the world, her infinite bravery and compassion, and for staying strong even after all she had to endure.

Her diary is inspiring because it showed the world her innermost thoughts and feelings during the Holocaust. Anne's diary was published in 1947 because Miep Giez, a friend of Anne's family, saved it when Anne was found and taken to a concentration camp. Eventually, Anne's diary was translated into 67 languages and is now one of the most widely read books in the world. That, in itself, is an amazing feat: that one little girl's diary can become so powerful. Her diary has hugely impacted people that have read its contents.

Her bravery and compassion is also a huge aspect to her inspiring character. These two aspects are perhaps the most important of her attributes. Through-out all the hardship she had to endure, she manage to stay positive and strong. This can be seen particularly in the quote aforementioned in the introductory paragraph. The quote essentially states that even through all the horrible sights that she was forced to witness during the Holocaust, she still believed that people were inherently good. To keep the faith in people event after the atrocious acts the Germans committed is mind-boggling. She didn't give up on the hope she held close to her heart and Anne didn't let what happen to her break her. Most people, in this situation though, would give up, but Anne pushed forward till the end.

The atrocities Anne had to tolerate during the Holocaust also shows how brave she is. During the Holocaust, Anne Frank and her family went into hiding. Four others, who were friends of her family, were also in hiding with her for twenty-five months. They hid in the annex of rooms above her father's office in Amsterdam. This must have been dreadful for the young Anne. She was cramped up inside a small area with many others, and couldn't leave or else she might get caught and taken to a concentration camp. Unfortunately, they were all eventually found. Then, they were deported to Nazi concentration camps. Life there was even worse than being in hiding. At least there she was safe and with her family, if not entirely comfortable. Then nine months after being arrested, on March 1945, Anne died of typhus at Bergen. She was only fifteen years old then.

Her life was so short and difficult, but she still managed to have a huge impact on the world and remain positive through it all. Anne Frank is inspiring to me, because of the eloquence of her diary, her astounding bravery, and for all that she had to endure.
