My hero was an Illinois politician and a lawyer. Abraham Lincoln was a great man who lived near Hodnville Hardin County, Kentucky. He was born on Feb.2, 1809 and died April 15, 1865. He was the 16th president and he married Mary Todd.

When Abraham Lincoln became president he abolished slavery. The reason why he abolished slavery was because he didn’t like slavery. Abraham Lincoln is important to me because he thought that slavery was bad, while other cruel people thought it was good.

Abraham Lincoln also steered the Union to victory. He did this so they could bring national unity and freedom. I agree with what Abraham Lincoln did because he wanted freedom and peace, not war.
