Sergej is a Slovenian handball representative. In Minsk ( Belorrusia ) he joined a sports club because he wanted to play basketball, but in this club they only had handball. Sergej decided to train for handball at the age of 12. At that time he found his passion and he cant imagine his life without it anymore.

When he was 17 years old Sergej came to Slovenia. At first he played in Gorenje, a handball club in Velenje. In 2001 he signed a contract with Celje Pivovarna Laško, the most prominent handball team in Slovenia. He became good friends with his teammates and they are just like brothers when they are playing a game. Last year they became European champions. That year Sergej was the best player and shooter in Europe. Last season he played in Spain for Cuidad Real, handball club. Not only in Celje but also in Spain he is considered the favourite player and he is at the top of his game. He is a simple man who learned to speak the Slovenian language perfectly. He is a Belorussian with a Slovenian passport.

Sergej's position is left back just like mine. I've never seen another man give himself body and soul to handball. I think that he is the most perfect man in handball, because he plays with all his heart and soul. In the future I hope to play as well as he is playing now. I wish with all my heart that I can see him play in Slovenia, and I hope that he will in Slovenia next season.
