The history of religion is, arguably, the history of humanity itself. From the earliest pagan times people made icons and myths to make sense of the wild mysteries that surround them. Many people base their beliefs upon the tenets of Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, Hinduism, or Christianity. Others belong to neopagan religions or adhere to the beliefs of the indigenous tribes of America. Fifteen percent of the world's population (nearly one billion people) does not adhere to an organized religion. This percentage include Atheists, Agnostics, Humanists, Scientific Materialists and others who have constructed their own individual belief systems. My Hero does not endorse any particular religion, but we do endorse understanding and religious tolerance. Understanding each other's beliefs will pave the way for true peace.

The nineteenth century philosopher Immanuel Kant argued that in order to have free will, people must not only be able to make moral choices, but must believe in the power of their choices to effect change. To believe in one's own power is another kind of faith and it is this which unites all heroes.
