Lawrence Peter, otherwise known as “Yogi Berra,” was a prime example of a courageous, enthusiastic, strong-willed New Yorker. Lawrence was always prepared to play baseball, regardless of whether others were confident in his abilities or not. He was always teased and was referred to as "Yogi" who is defined as being funny and awkward. "Yogi" was always able to put aside those put-downs from the media, though, and to play like an all-star. He always gave it his best fight. Lawrence is a straightforward, strong, courageous, competitive, brave hero of the Major League Baseball Association.

Lawrence Peter is, and will remain, a famous hero of Yankee history. He was born on May 12, 1925 in St. Louis, Illinois. He was a baseball player all of his life and was part of the U.S Navy in 1943. Three years later he returned to professional baseball and played his first game with the New York Yankees. Opening in his first game with the New York Yankees, he hit a home run. He played out in right and was a part-time catcher. He played with the Yankees from 1946-1963 and helped lead the Yankees to fourteen World Series games, and achieved a victory in ten of them. He batted with an average of .285, over two thousand hits, three hundred twenty one doubles, forty nine triples, and hammered three hundred home runs. He was considered a hero to the Yankees and to their fans.

Lawrence Peter is an outstanding role model to refer to. He is someone who can put the media’s comments behind him and play sports with retaliation, strength, bravery, and sportsmanship. Lawrence is absolutely the best champion in sports due to his athletic ability - being an all-star for fifteen years, most valuable player for three years, and leading the Yankees to ten victories in fourteen years of the World Series. Lawrence can always play like a superstar and his main strength was hitting them out of the park. Lawrence will always be my hero due to his skill, his level of confidence, and his ability to persevere.

Lawrence Peter’s life was very significant to his friends, family, and fans. He helped the New York Yankees into fourteen different championships, ultimately receiving ten titles. He was also very good in statistics-wise. He batted .285, with 358 home runs and over two thousand hits. He is the most talented, influencial, giving, player in the history of Major League Baseball. He has inspired many, including me, to play sports and to never forfeit till the end. He has given strength to all and is an amazing hero to look up to.

Lawrence Peter is a strong-willed man who lends a hand, supports and bolsters people up. He has inspired me throughout his courageous acts and bravery as a baseball player. Lawrence played against all media comments and became one of the greatest baseball players alive today. Lawrence was amazing on the charts statistically with over two thousand hits and 358 home runs. Lawrence Peter will always be remembered for his athletics, courage, and bravery as a baseball player.
