Wild Bill

by Tiffany from Seattle

Wild Bill Hickock (drew it myself)
Wild Bill Hickock (drew it myself)

Wild Bill was born May 27, 1837 in Grove, Illinois. When Wild Bill was twenty, his real name was James Butler and he got involved in the Civil War.

He overcame many hardships. When he was playing a game, a stranger shot him in the back. When he was camping on the Oregon trail, Wild Bill was attacked by a bear. Several times he was captured and sentenced to hang. But, each time he managed to escape.

One of his major accomplishments includes becoming the sheriff of Cowtown in 1869. When he married, he could not settle down. When he was in the Civil War, he became a scout and spy.

Wild Bill is my hero because of his courage and skills with the gun. He tamed two of the Wild West's wildest towns. Due to his reputation, no one dared to stir up trouble.
