Terry Fox is my hero because he ran across much of Canada with one real leg and one wooden leg. He had a dream and his dream was to raise money for cancer research and even though people said he would never do it he kept trying and he raised 1.7 million dollars before he was forced to quit.

Terry Fox was born July 28 1958 and died June 28 1981. He was born in Winnipeg Manitoba and raised in Port Coquitlam British Columbia. His mother's name was Betty, his father's name was Rolly, his older brother's name was Fred, his younger brother's name was Darryl and his younger sister's name was Judith. Terry Fox was also the smallest kid in his university sports class.

Terry Fox was inspired by Dick Traum, the first amputee to complete the New York marathon. It gave him the inspiration to start a 14 month training program. His obstacles were to find funding for his run. He did not want companies who wanted him to endorse their products.

One of Terry Fox's actions was he promised that as soon or if he had any heart problems he would stop immediately. One of Terry Fox's achievements was he ran across much of Canada and raised 1.7 million dollars when he was forced to quit and now he is a known hero and has set a goal for many Canadians who run once a year for Terry Fox.

Terry Fox was brave because he ran across most of Canada to raise money for cancer research. He was very respectful because he was very nice to everyone and he was optimistic because even though people said he wouldn't do it, he ran across most of Canada anyway.

My hero influences me by letting me know that I can do anything if I try like he tried really hard to get across Canada. Unfortunately, Terry got only halfway and luckily he raised 1.7 million dollars.

Terry Fox was a great person who ran across most of Canada trying to raise money for cancer research and he did. He was everything I wrote about in my project.
