Someday the hurting must stop!

Can you run 5,280 km around canada for cancer? Well Terry Fox can and he did with a amputated leg. Terry Fox is a hero. He's a legend for what he did. He's Canada's number one runner. He's my hero!

Terrance Stanley Fox was born on July 28 1958 in Winnipeg, Manitoba then his parents moved to Port Coquitiam, B.C. He died on June 28 1981. He has 2 brothers named Darrel and Fred and his sister's name is Judith and his dad's name is Rolly and his mom's name is Betty. He went to Simon Fraser University and he was on the gr.8 basketball team and he loved sports in his childhood. Terry got a pain in his right knee and it was cancer so he had to get it amputed. He started to run for cancer and tryed to raise one dollar for each person and he ran because he wanted everyone not to suffer from cancer any longer and he ran 143 days and 5;280 km before he died. He died from cancer because it spread and he died on June 28 1981.

Terry had to deal with so many things like disability and cancer and he was also an amputee. Terry has a couple of influences like : Mark Kent because he also ran across the country for something he believed in. Steve Fonyo influenced him because he had the same condition as Terry and ran to the same spot where terry was forced to stop. Rick Hansen influenced him because he traveled to the same spot where Terry stopped but he did it in a wheelchair. Dick Traum influenced him because he was the first amputee to complete the New York marathon. Terry Fox is supportive for people because he was raising money to help find a cure for cancer and he is caring for people with cancer and he had optimism because he had hope to stop cancer and he was positive for what he was doing and he had integrity because he wanted to run for cancer and hope people wouldn't have it anymore. He had courage to run across Canada and he had responsibility because he was responsible for the choices he made.

Terry liked sports a lot and also running! Terry ran 143 days and 5,280 km for cancer before he died. He ran for a cure for cancer all across Canada, well almost all the way across. He died from cancer because it spread through his lungs but it was originally in his right leg but he got it amputated so he didn't have to suffer with the pain anymore. Sadly, he got it again in his lungs and there wasn't a cure for it so his goal wasn't reached and so he died :( Terry fox influences me because he had hope for a cure for cancer and he believed even though some people didn't. He kept running for what he believed in and he never gave up, he wasnt a quitter. He didn't care what people would say about him that was bad. He kept believing for what he wanted to so that's why he influences me.

I hope Terry Fox is a hero to you now and I hope you learned a lot about him from my story and I hope you enjoyed it a lot. Terry still inspires a lot of people even though he is dead. Terry will always be remembered and loved and he will always be a big hero to lots of people! Please try to do the same thing as Terry. At least run every day and record it so then maybe there will be a cure for cancer!

Thank you
