Sachin Tendulkar

by Gopi from Mayiladuthurai

It's not the sugar that makes the tea sweet but the stirring.

The only Cricket player who scored a higher number of centuries in both test and ODI cricket (93 tons), the highest run scorer of ODI cricket and more and more records are owned by the only man from International cricket? It’s my hero SACHIN TENDULKAR. Why is he my hero? Is it because of his massive records? Is it because of his stylish shots? Yes. It will be a part of the reason. He is my hero mainly because of his LEADERSHIP, he admired me as a GOOD TEAM PLAYER, more than that his PASSION TO CRICKET AND MY COUNTRY.

My hero was born on earth on April 24 1973 in the suburb of Bombay. After playing several first class matches he entered International test cricket on 15th November, 1989 against Pakistan at the age of 16. The great man’s era began on that day. His bullying batting performance is still the same. Even though he is at the pinnacle of fame, my hero is humble. During my hero’s childhood his coach always gave him a test. In that, his coach placed a one rupee coin at the top of the stump. If Sachin didn’t get bowled he could take the coin home, otherwise, the bowler would. My hero never lost even a single coin in that test. It’s a good example of his consistency.

Tendulkar is a stalwart of our team even now. He delivers a consistent, uniform, logical, coherent play with the same enthusiasm whether as a very young boy or at the age of 36. His verdict on the ball will never be wrong. His zeal at the ground will never fade, his aggressiveness on the ball will never decrease. Everyone’s life has ups and downs. Sachin also failed to be a Captain at the early 2000 but now he proved his brilliance with his maturity and acting as a coach in the ground. Also he succeeded in the new form of T20 cricket with both his bat and captaincy for his own team, The MUMBAI INDIANS.

After creating a World record of highest individual score in ODI form of cricket against South Africa in February 2010, he dedicated that double century to the people of India for their moral support since 20 years. I love my hero’s passion. My hero also won great awards: Arjuna award – 1994, Viston cricketer – 1997, Rajiv Kel Rathna – 1997-98, Padmashri – 1999, Padma Vibhushan – 2008 and many more. He inspired me to work hard in my field so that I can achieve and be awarded like my hero in the future.

Players from all over the world have praised Sachin as the BRADMAN of this period. Yes, of course, his play resembles the play of a great man. Many people used to say these words, "IF CRICKET IS A RELIGION SACHIN WILL BE ITS GOD." He is the role model for lots and lots of cricket aspirants. I learned sportsmanship, humility and passion from my hero. Likewise Sachin’s records take him to the top but his passion to play makes him stay at the top.

“HE IS NOT ONLY MY HERO BUT HERO OF THE WORLD”.
