Sheldon Souray

Hi my name is Braydee. I am a 10 year old girl. For my hero I am picking a sports person. He is a hockey player and his name is Sheldon Souray. He is on the Edmonton Oilers hockey team. That is my favorite hockey team because Edmonton is my home team. I live in Morinville and it is only 20 minutes from Edmonton. I picked Sheldon Souray for my hero because he has one of the hardest shots in the NHL. Here is another reason why I picked Sheldon Souray. I picked him because I am native and so is Sheldon . An amazing fact is that Sheldon Souray is one of the few Native Canadians to play in the NHL. My cousin Josie met Sheldon Souray FACE-TO-FACE when she was at one of his hockey games. She was so lucky to have some pictures taken with him. I am lucky too as she gave me a picture of him. The best part is that Sheldon even signed the picture. I keep his picture hanging up on my wall in my bedroom. Sheldon Souray is the best. Sheldon Suray's position is defence. He can take a shot from the blue line and score. I am a hockey player also. I play all positions and one time when I was playing defence and I took a shot from the blue line , I SCORED. It was awsome! I want to play for the Oilers someday just like Sheldon Souray. Sheldon Souray is an inspiration to me. This is why I picked him for my hero.
