Steve R. Irwin

by Lauren from St. Albert

Steve grew up in Australia and moved to Queensland a few years later. As a kid he was around animals and crocodiles and other reptiles. As an adult he had two kids named Bindi and Robert and a wife named Terri. His mom’s name is Lyne and his father's name is Bob.

His mom and he had a good relationship because they were born on the same day, February 22. Steve had 50 films about and for being naturalist. My hero, unfortunately, lives in heaven. He died while shooting a documentary.

A stingray ray hit him on the chest near his heart on September 4. He was only 44 years of age. Whenever Steve found something amazing he would shout out “Crikey” with his Australian accent.

In his farewell video he said " I hope I change the world for animals.I hope I'm someone's hero." Now when I am older older I want to be just like him and help animals.
