Peyton Manning

by Adam from Wooster

My hero is Peyton Manning. He is my hero because he is a great football player and my dream is to be a great football player, too! He is very kind and a good sport on and off the field.

Each Christmas season, Peyton takes over the children's museum of Indianapolis. Peyton has provided funds to the center before but this year marked his biggest gift ever. Peyton also pledged 1 million dollars to the University of Tennesse's athletic department. He asked that most of the money will go toward enhancing the Neyland Thompson football complex and that the rest go toward improving the Neyland stadium locker room. Peyton also has his own charity called the Peyback foundation. The Peyback foundation has given a total of $222,800 to 48 organizations in Indiana! He gave $135,330 to 31 organizations in Tennessee. $141,900 was given to 25 New Orleans based charities.

My hero Peyton Manning comes from a famous family. His dad Archie Manning is in the college football Hall of Fame! Peyton's older brother, Cooper, was an all-state wide receiver, but never played afterwards, due to a spinal condition. Peyton's older brother, Eli, has won a super bowl and received the super bowl MVP award. Peyton is 6 foot 5 and 230 pounds. He is a 10 time pro Bowler. Peyton's career stats are 366 touchdowns, 181 interceptions and 50,128 passing yards. My dream is to be just like Peyton Manning and accomplish everything he has and more!
