The hero I chose to write about is Peyton Manning because he is a great football player for the Indianapolis Colts. He also has sportsmanship and is a gentleman on and off the field. The main reason I chose Peyton Manning for my hero is because he helps children at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital.

Peyton Manning was born on March 24, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He has won many awards like the Johnny Unitas Award. Peyton is the best quarterback in the NFL. He has won 4 MVP awards and a Super Bowl.

I chose Peyton Manning as a hero because he has a children’s hospital named after him, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent, in Indianapolis. Peyton is honored to be closely associated with the children’s hospital for critically ill and injured children. Archie Manning, Peyton’s father, said “Role models such as my son are good for the NFL, and he wishes more was said about them.” Archie went on to say that he felt he had witnessed his son’s “greatest moment”. The greatest moment Archie is referring to is the opening of Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.

The hospital is located in Indianapolis and it specializes in treating children with complicated or chronic conditions. It has 46 patient beds, a pediatric intensive care unit, as well as 17 private rooms in the pediatric emergency department.

Peyton is a hero because of the support he gives children at the hospital. He also inspires people to be smart, fit and to do their best. Peyton will always be my hero. I know that people will think of Peyton as a hero, not just a football player.
