“The British are coming! The British are coming,” said my hero Paul Revere.

One character trait that will fit Paul Revere is courage. I choose courage because he left silver smithing at age 21 to join the French and Indian War. Once he rode by a British boat on a secret mission. Another character trait is his determination because even with the British in the way he still kept going. A third character trait is that he is a rebel. He was a rebel because he was one of the many Sons of Liberty. Being one of the Sons of Liberty meant that you were against most of what the king decided. On the night of April 18, 1775 he went on his horse to warn the country side of British troops who were attacking. The last character trait is clever because he and the Sons of Liberty put lanterns on a church window. One meant the British were coming by land and two meant the British were coming by sea. They also had people spying on the British so they could foil their plans. Paul Revere had many achievements he accomplished. One achievement was that he helped win America’s independence. He also accomplished throwing the tea into Boston Harbor even though the king didn’t let anybody go in or out of the harbor. Paul Revere influenced me to never give up and to keep on trying. Another thing he influenced me to do is to keep fighting for my goals.

I chose him because he fought for the colonists and never gave up even during hard times. People say Paul was born January 1, 1735, and died May 10, 1818. Still today, people don’t know the exact date he was born. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, New England and went to Boston’s Old North Writing School. Instead of going to college he became an apprentice to his father. He was the third of twelve children, and he was the oldest son to survive into adulthood. Only seven grew up to be adults.

My hero was influenced by many things. One event that influenced my hero was the Boston Tea Party and being one of the Sons of Liberty. It influenced him because he thought it wasn’t fair for the British king to charge taxes on tea. Also being one of the Sons of Liberty made him a rebel and he was proud of it. One of the obstacles he faced was the British Army because he was caught by six British officers. He was actually let go without a horse. Then he went to warn Sam Adams and John Hancock. Another obstacle was the French and Indian war. One thing that my hero did that I consider him a hero was he was protecting the safety of the other colonists and fought for our freedom. He never gave up even when he was caught by the British army. He inspires me to have pride and do whatever it takes to defend our beautiful country.

Heroes are people who keep going and keep fighting for their dreams.
