Michael Decaria

My hero is Michael Decaria. He is my cousin. He is my hero because he is a well-rounded person and he is very nice. He is good at a lot of things, too. He played football, soccer, basketball and baseball and was very good at all of them. He was also a very good student.

He played soccer and baseball in elementary school and middle-school. In baseball he played almost every position. In soccer he was an excellent left wing. He is right handed, but played the left wing. He played there so that he could fake right while on the left side to score easily. Soccer was definitely his sport.

Even though he was an excellent soccer player, Mike switched to football in high school. He was a wide-receiver and the field goal kicker for Weirton Madonna's football team. At first he wasn't that good because it was a new sport to him. But he ended up being great! He led Madonna's football team to two state championships! He also played basketball in high-school. He was great at that, too!

Even though Michael was very busy with sports, he achieved straight A's for his whole life. He played just about every sport there is, but somehow made time to study. He never forgot or lost his homework. He never made excuses about anything. I want to be just like that. Mike always got good grades even through college! Now he is studying to be a doctor!

A hero should be a nice person, and try hard in everything. This is exactly what Michael did. He tried hard in all of his sports. He tried to be a nice person. He tried hard in school. For all of these reasons, I think that Mike is the best hero that I could have picked.
