Iron Lady

As for me, I have many favorite famous people, actors and singers. But one of the most respectful persons for me is Margaret Thatcher.

She was the first woman in European history to be elected as a Prime Minister. I think that she is a true political revolutionary because she broadened the base of the Conservative Party, including the middle class along with the wealthy aristocracy. She has very perfect debating skills. We also know Thatcher as the Iron Lady, because of her strict control over her cabinet and the country’s economic policies.

According to political observers, she brought long-needed changes to British government and society. Besides politics, Margaret Thatcher has always been interested in fashion, in make-up, in hair style. In spite of the fact she has been often called “the Iron Lady”, she is a kind-hearted, intelligent, witty woman and a caring mother as well.

To my mind the prototype of M. Thatcher is Julia Timoshenko. She is also a Prime Minister of Ukraine, but Timoshenko has different methods of governing.

So, Margaret Thatcher is my hero. I’m fond of her strength and charm.
