Have you ever seen a homeless person or the less fortunate on the side of the street? Mother Teresa did and her heart went out to those less fortunate so that is why she spent her life helping all she could.

Mother Teresa was born as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhia, on August 26, 1910. At the age of twelve, she felt strongly a calling to be a Catholic missionary nun. She knew she had to spread the love of Christ to hurting people in the world. When she was 18 she had joined the sisters of Loreta, a missionary order of nuns in India; it was at her vocation that she took the name Teresa. From 1931-1948 Mother Teresa taught at St. Mary’s High school in Calcutta, India.

Mother Teresa started helping others when she was a very young age. In fact she dedicated her whole life to others. Somewhere in her heart she felt that the less fortunate people who did not have food or water needed her help most. So she found and gave food and water to the less fortunate. Mother Teresa cared so much about them, she spent the rest of her life as a Catholic nun who helped others. Unfortunately, Mother Teresa died of old age. Since her death people have remembered what she did to help others.

I chose Mother Teresa as my hero because she dedicated her life to help those who were less fortunate. Also, I am impressed at how she has inspired and influenced others who have followed in her footsteps. She has inspired me to help those who are less fortunate.

Mother Teresa had the courage to help change the world for many less fortunate people in India. With her kindness she has made the world a better place. She was able to love all that she came into contact with and help the poorest of the poor.
