Why is a police officer a hero?

We believe a police officer is a hero because they arrest bad guys, people who do drugs, thieves, gangsters or murderers. They also protect people and take care of problems. If there is a fight, they break it up. If someone is shooting a gun, the police will protect the citizens. They also help get drunk drivers off the road. If someone is driving too fast they will give them a ticket. If they don’t stop the car, then the police can shoot the tires and will make them stop.

We are not related to a police officer, however I know a man who works at Play Time Video, and he is a part time Police Officer. The Police Officer responds to alarms at people’s houses if bad guys try to steal their stuff. They drive fast, and they will take bad guys to jail.

I think a hero is a person who helps other people and protects them. A hero to me is a person who helps others. An example is helping an old person across the street to be nice. I want to become a police officer because if a person wants to kill another person, I will stop them and arrest them. I want to help protect people. If there were no police officers, there would be more crime, robbers, and people getting hurt.
