Lady

This is our Lady
This is our Lady

I have never imagined that I would talk about a dog and that I would describe it as my hero. However, after some events, I’m not ashamed and I’m even proud to say that my dog, Lady, is not only my friend, but also my hero.

I received Lady as a present from my father when I was 12 years old. She was a cute and playful puppy. As she grew older, she became very smart, too. Every time I came back home, she used to sense me and she went on the balcony to bark at me. When I was tired and I didn’t feel like playing, Lady used to come near me in the bed and she didn’t bother me at all.

Lady was considered a member of the family and we all loved her. But, one day, when I was alone with her in the house, something bad happened to me. Suddenly, I started to feel very ill and I could hardly stand up. My mother had left the house for a while and she hadn’t taken her cell phone. My father was away at work and I couldn’t call him.

I felt worse and worse. At that moment, Lady, knowing somehow that I was in danger, opened the front door with her paw and rushed out of the flat to look for my mother. Lady found mother on the way home. She started barking at her and pulling her by the trousers. At that moment my mother understood that there was something wrong with me.

Mother and Lady came quickly back home and they found me lying helplessly on the bed. My mother telephoned our family doctor who came to check what was wrong with me. He told my mother that I had a severe form of measles. Since that day, my mother has improved her behaviour towards Lady and she hasn’t forgotten to take her cell phone anymore.

Lady has become not only my hero, but also our family’s hero.
