There are many people on the Earth but not all of them are heroes. In my opinion it is necessary to perform heroic, great or noble deed to become a hero. A hero must be a kind-hearted person with a wide soul. A real hero even forgets about himself in difficult or dangerous situations. My Hero is Doctor Roshal.

Children’s doctor, Leonid Roshal is well-known both in Russia and around the world.

I heard about him for the first time when he provided medical aid to the victims of terrorists in the Dubrovka Theatre Center and in Beslan. He risked his life thousands of times and saved lives of many people.

He is always there where children are in danger. At these moments he forgets about anything except his patients. Doctor Roshal has devoted his life to the problem of “Children in Catastrophe”. He has helped children who have suffered in earthquakes, train crashes, military conflicts in Chechnya, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Georgia, India, Egypt, Japan and other countries.

In 1996 journalists named him “Children’s Doctor of the World”. In 2002 he got titles "National Hero of Russia", "Pride of Russia". Leonid Roshal has got many awards but they are not the most important things for him. His aim is to help people and the main awards for him are happy children whom he helped.

Reading about Doctor Roshal I have understood how important can be a doctor in our life. I always want to be a doctor but now my dream to devote my life to people becomes stronger.
