Louis Spohr

Louis Spohr is my hero because he was very intelligent and he played classical music. I like listening to classical music, and I play the violin. My hero was born on April 5, 1784 in Germany and he died on October 22, 1859. He was a composer, conductor and violinist.

His parents were: Karl Henrich Spohr and Juliane Ernestine Luise Honke. Louis Spohr met Beethoven. In his career he was in a tour in Italy, Germany and Spain. His best operas that he composed are the Faust, Zemire und Azor and Jessonda. He also produced more than 150 works with opus numbers, in addition, he produced a series of 36 string quartet. Then in 1820 he invented the chin-rest violin. His compositions include a number of works with violin and harp, written by himself and his wife, the harpist Dorette Scheidler.

Spohr was also interested in politics, so he listened to as many debates as he was able. From 1822 Louis Spohr was director of music at Kassel. Then in 1859 he died.
