Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is my hero because if it were not for his braveness I could not go to this school. He was selfless in his work for freedom for all people. He was determined to make a difference in the world. Dr. King was a Baptist minister in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. King was a main leader of the civil rights movement in the United States.
Dr. King had to be brave to survive angry people throwing tin cans, rocks and rotten eggs at him. Sometimes the police used powerful fire hoses. They sprayed water, knocking him down and bruising him. Sometimes even dogs were used. Would you be able to let all this happen to you and not use violence to fight back?
Dr. King was determined to be free from racism and for others to be free as well. Some people did not like this so they put him in jail because he wanted all people to be free and they wanted it to stay the same.
Dr. King is my hero because of his braveness and his determined mind. The world changed in many ways: by friend, by heart, by love and mostly by color.
