A hero? Not your typical superhero. Not the ones that wear their underwear over their pants, with little capes. I'm talking about a normal person. Someone who has goals that most likely he/she will achieve. Someone smart, but not cocky. Someone kind, generous, and caring.
She's always been there. Standing, perfect in my mind. She doesn't agree that she's perfect, but to me the humbleness makes her heroic. She knows how to make someone feel better; I'd know since she's been there for me through trying times. She's beautiful inside and out. Her dark hair and flawless complexion match her compassion, loyalty, and charisma. Katie Ethier is my best friend, I'd do anything for her. I owe her at least that.
Katie and I met when I moved to Peterborough at the end of grade six. I was told to sit beside her so that we could share textbooks. I had no clue that she would soon become my best friend. Since then, our relationship has grown. I trust her with everything in my life. She has always been there to help me, especially when I am upset and just need a friend.
There have been many times when I have called Katie with a problem, and she has had a friend over. But Katie would always invite me over anyway so that she could sit and comfort me. We would end up talking for hours, and just being around her made me feel better.
Katie Ethier is my hero for the simplest of reasons. She has the ability to make me understand things in a different way. She creates an atmosphere that makes anyone want to be around her, and everything she would like to attempt she will pursue. She makes me a better person, and that, in short, is what our world needs.
