John F. Shroyer

by Kristen from Tipp City

Bob the builder is coming to Tipp, to help our town. He digs the dirt until he is proud. So come along and dig into my report, and see if you’re proud.

My hero is John Shroyer, he is my grandpa. What he did for me is he built our church, called Christian Family Fellowship (CFF). He not only did it for me he did it for our family, friends, and nation. I picked him because he is inspiring me to do something wonderful like he did.

My grandpa was born February 1st, in New Bremen, Ohio. His mother is Wilhelmine Clara Shroyer and his dad was Harold Levester Shroyer. He graduated in 1960 at New Bremen High school. He furthered his education at Bluffton College, and the Dayton art institute. Shortly after that he got married to Marry Lou Shroyer on March 2nd.

What my grandpa achieved with Christian Family Fellowship, is he taught there for 11 years. Just last summer in June he put together a family camp. Families would come to our church, and they would teach in the word and have fun doing activities with their families. I thought this was a great thing for him to do because he worked so hard to have families come to our church and have fellowship by learning about God and his word.

What he did for our society and world is build CFF. Something that he did for me is being my grandpa and loves me more than anything. I’m so proud of what he has been and will always be. My Grandpa’s importance to me is that I care for him, love him and care about his life and love. These are some very important things that I think about my grandpa and what he thinks about me.

Challenges my grandpa faced and did overcome were building his positive heart up to build CFF. Another challenge that he faced were he had a very bad illness, but he didn’t overcome this, but we will always remember him and, love, cherish, care, and see him again. He fell asleep at age 65 on Saturday August 25, 2007. We will always remember John Shroyer, the guy that created CFF.

It has been a great opportunity to me his granddaughter and to know him. I will never forget him. The person I picked is a great inspiration to learn from. I could write so much more wonderful things about my grandpa, but there's too much things to write down. It has been great being in the life of John F. Shroyer, my grandpa.
