My hero is Jonas Salk. In 1955 he made a cure for Polio. Polio is a kind of disease. Because he discovered the cure for polio, he saved lots of children. It took him a long time to find a cure. Dr. Jonas Salk was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977. He is my hero because he saved lots of children and he made North Carolina and the United States free from polio. Every time something didn’t work he said, “Great, we’ve made a great discovery!”
