Stunts in movies to starting charity groups is what the famous Jackie Chan is doing. Jackie Chan is responsible for all kinds of charity. You know how Jackie is in movies? Well, that makes him an artist hero. He isn’t my hero because he is in movies. He is my hero because he did charity for his homeland, China. He’s doing charity because someone inspired him to be kind. Charles Chan, his dad, was his inspiration. His dad wanted Jackie to have a better future, so left their home to earn money for Jackie.

Jackie Chan is kind and supportive. My hero, Jackie, established the Dragon’s Heart Charity trip. It’s to fulfill the desperate need of children and the elderly in remote areas of China. Medical funding in mainland China needed a machine for Operation Smile, a different charity, so Jackie gave it to them. Queen Mary Hospital was in need of SARS relief; guess what, Jackie helped. He supports the Performing Arts in many places. His own personal development center and family unit in Hong Kong for Girl Guides Association - Jockey Club Beas River Lodge, was built for Jackie by construction workers. The Jackie Chan Gymnasium at Lingan University was his idea. Of course the Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Intercollegiate Invitation Tournament was his way of charity. To get all the money he has sold t-shirts, jackets, shoes, pullovers, sweatshirt, underwear, caps, and more because he is a popular movie star.

Jackie inspires me because he is kind and charitable. Now I will be more kind to people and donate with my family. If I ever become famous I will do my best to donate to my homeland, just like he did. At first Jackie had left it a secret. After a couple years Jackie revealed to the whole world that he was helping charity. He knew that you don’t have to be perfect if you’re an actor; you could do charity.

It doesn’t matter if you’re famous or not, you can be kind by doing something like going to shelter homes and helping them, or adopting pets or children.
