In my opinion a hero must be a real leader and a sincere patriot. That's why Giuseppe Garibaldi is my hero. He was a great Italian military man and political figure.

Garibaldi is a national hero of Italy. He was a brilliant guerrilla fighter and the most famous soldier. He was called the "Hero of Two Worlds" because of his military adventures in South America and in Europe.

He did a lot for his country. Garibaldi's skill at rousing people, and his military victories made him very popular. Garibaldi continued to fight almost all his life. He took part in lots of revolutions and liberation wars.

In spite of his life full of danger, he had time to have a family: he had a wife and children. But his family happiness didn't last long. Garibaldi believed that Italy would be a united country and he did his best to achieve this dream.

He died at Caprera. He is buried on his farm near his last wife and some of his children.
