Terry Fox was born July 28, 1958 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. While in his teens, Terry developed bone cancer. The doctors had to remove one of his legs. Heroically, Terry began running across Canada to raise money for cancer research. He called his run the Marathon of Hope. He raised 24.2 million dollars.
I think Terry Fox was very brave running across Canada with one leg. I also think it was good that he raised money to help fight cancer. Terry Fox is my hero.
