My Nana Doreen (I drew it)

Doreen Mary VanRooijen was born in Edmonton at the Royal Alexander Hospital on February 10th, 1942, and she died in Edmonton on April 23, 2007.

Her parents were my Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Whyte, a.k.a William and Verna Whyte. She did foster care for 25 years. Also, she was a cook for children at a camp for 20 years. She had 6 children, 5 of them girls and one boy, Bill, who is my dad.

She is my hero because she was always there for me. When I was younger she used to take care of me and my sister and all my cousins when our moms and dads had to work till they came to pick us up. I always thought she was the best for doing that.

I miss you Nana and I will never forget you.
