Dallin McLeod

Dallin was born December 26, 1997. He was born in Newwmarket. Dallin weighed about five pounds. Dallin was born two months early. The first school Dallin went to Cookstown Cental Public School. His character traits are courage, he has a lot of respect for other people. Dallin is caring and most of the time he is responsible. Dallin was diagnosed with cancer at two years old. He does not remember a lot but he does remember it hurt a lot and he felt sad most of the time.

The challenge of having cancer helped him realize that there is a lot of things he would like to accomplish before he dies. Sometimes his friends that were with him in the hospital died and he was very sad. He still misses them. He had three years of treatment. But he still has a big battle ahead of him. They say you are cured after you have been free of treatment for five years and it is coming up to five years in June.

He lived in Cookstown when he got cancer. He went to Sick Kids Hospital. He had needles in the leg and in the back and took a lot of pills too. They were all forms of chemotherapy. He had leukemia which is cancer of the blood bone marrow. He has many doctors. Doctor Hubat is his cancer doctor. Doctor Melanie is Dallin's doctor at Sick Kids. Doctor Rajan is Dallin's special doctor in Newmarket that helped when no one else knew what was wrong with him.

Dallin also likes funky monkeys. Dallin wants to be a video developer to raise money for a cure for cancer/leukimia. Dallin's heroes are his Mom and Cujo. Cujo is Dallin's hero because Cujo helps out kids who are sick by giving to the hospital. The Rock (he is a wrestler and a movie star) Because they're very nice. Dallin got to meet them both while he was in treatment. His most special hero is his mom because she is very special to Dallin. She helped him be brave when he was going through the treatments.

Dallin is our friend and we're all happy he survived cancer. We all are really lucky to have Dallin as our friend. We all miss him because he moved to Cookstown Central Public School. Dallin has always been a hero since was 2 years old. We are inspired by how brave Dallin was. The world is a much better place because of people like Dallin.
