by Emily from New York

Roald Dahl was a real hero. He was the author of many children’s books, including The Twits and Matilda. Roald Dahl was also a hero because he was creative, brave and talented. He also joined the Royal Air Force during World War II. He was a true hero.

Roald Dahl had a sad childhood. Mr. Dahl had lived in Norway, so he spoke the Norwegian language. He also had seven siblings and he was one of the youngest in his family. Dahl’s father was a big journal writer so he could remember some characteristics of his father. Dahl also had a very sad childhood because of many family deaths. Mr. Dahl had a wonderful family while it lasted.

Some obstacles that Roald Dahl faced were tough. His mother, father and sister died, making Dahl’s life miserable. They had all died of an illness that there was no cure for at the time. Due to this, Mr. Dahl didn’t have actual parents- just a stepmother, who was very caring. While Dahl was at school, he had teachers that were incredibly mean. The teachers believed in punishments! Another obstacle that Roald Dahl faced was pain. He had his adenoids pulled and he broke his nose. Those obstacles Dahl faced were difficult.

One character trait that Roald Dahl had was that he was creative. He came up with “The Great Mouse Plot,” where Dahl and some of his friends put a dead mouse in a candy jar. He was also creative because he was an author. Another trait that he had was that he was a troublemaker. He talked out of turn and got sent to the office. The final trait that Mr. Dahl had was that he was a sad kid. The loss of his family members made him feel sad and lonesome. Dahl was creative, a troublemaker, and a sad kid.

The contributions that Roald Dahl made to society were great. He wrote best-selling children’s’ books. Some favorites are The Witches, Matilda, and The B.F.G. Dahl also joined the Royal Air Force and fought as a soldier. Roald Dahl really contributed to society.

Roald Dahl was truly a hero because he had a brave childhood, overcame obstacles, joined the Air Force and was an outstanding author. Roald Dahl was a true hero.
