Roberto is my hero because he helped people and his family. He was honest, brave, and caring. I picked Roberto because he died trying to do good.

Roberto Clemente was a famous baseball player who did a lot of things for his family. From 1952-1954 Roberto played for the Santurce Crabbers.

Roberto organized a collection of food, clothing, and medicine for the earthquake victims in Puerto Rico because most of them were very hurt. To Roberto they were not just people, to him, they were his family and friends; that's why he helped them.

He was brave because he wanted to go to Puerto Rico when there was a lot of damage everywhere in Puerto Rico.

Roberto was born on August 18, 1934 in Carolina, Puerto Rico. New Year’s Eve, December 31, 1997, was the 25th annivsery of his death. Roberto was the first Latin American to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
