Why are they our hero?
They are our hero because they provide basic necessities for people who can’t afford them. They are citizens helping other citizens of our community live happier, fuller lives. They do not ask for recognition or awards, but they help with everything they can. They were picked as our hero because they help the community. They always accept people no matter what their financial status or overall status of life. They give Thanksgiving baskets every year to thousands of people. They also give Christmas presents to people who can’t afford Christmas. They never ask for a thank you or anything like that at all. They immediately do things without being asked or having any instruction whatsoever. They are really good people who do really good things for our community. They are constantly thinking up new programs and helping people. They are always very consistent with their work and always doing their work very well. They are always accepting things for the thrift shop so that they can give them to people who need them. Because they are our hero we need to support them by bringing in old clothes or furniture. Also we can bring in food for they food pantry. Finally we can donate our time by volunteering in the store. They are our hero because they are always helping people everywhere. I have had experiences with them once or twice. We have had some recent money issues so they gave us food a couple of times because we were so unable to pay for it.

So they help the community, but how? The programs they often make a big difference in our community. They offer many programs, but we will only be focusing on only four main programs. One is the Family Crisis intervention, provided to those at 50% of the country’s median income. During the intervention, food and thrift shop items are given to them on a need basis. Next, the transition shelter is housing provided for those who need support. The housing is for up to 2 years, they provide case management, life skills training, budget management, communications skills, socialization. Another is a major program they offer which is the food pantry; they give out food or food stamps to people who need extra supplies or just need food. Lastly, the thrift shop, they provide clothing and other items free to qualified Christian Associates clients. Also it is great place to find bargains for everyone! They have clothes, accessories, furniture, and everyday housing items that are needed for everyday life around a household. All proceeds support Christian Associates programs. So all in all, the programs they offer play a huge role in them changing the community. They help people who are down on their luck. Many people that can offer things, shop at the thrift shop store because they are simply looking for a bargain. Also many families donate clothes that are no use to them anymore. Because of these programs, our community is improved everyday. That is why we chose Christian Associates.

Christian Associates has impacted our community greatly. The programs they offer are the food pantry, the transition shelter, the thrift shop, and the family crisis intervention program. They help people that are suffering from domestic abuse. They help support youth that have been mistreated. They also receive donations so they can be used for the community. You can make a difference by volunteering. You can donate clothes, food, and other necessities. They help so many people that are homeless, poor, or just in a rough time in their life; because of what they do for them it ends up impacting our whole community and changing it for the better. They have thought up program after program to help people. The food pantry, transition shelter, and thrift shop are great ideas that have helped a lot of people. People in our community have been touched and helped by the Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas baskets; in these baskets is everything anyone could ever want for a meal. They are usually canned or boxed goods but they make a very good meal. Thanksgiving and Christmas are great days to be with family and friends. It should not be spent looking for food to eat. Families are supposed to be together on these days because they were meant to be that way. Without the foods in these baskets these families can’t spend that day together. They are great people helping our community in so many ways. They are constantly looking thinking up new ways to help their community. They have made a huge impact on our community because of the programs they offer and the people working to make the programs work. Those people are selfless and that is why they are our heroes.

How can we help?
Christian Associates is a non-profit organization that helps people get back on their feet after they have had a serious fall. They give food, furniture, clothing, and accessories to people who can’t afford them. They will always help you no matter what your financial status. They accept everyone. They give food to people who can't afford to buy food. They sell discounted furniture to anyone and everyone. Clothing and accessories can be bought in the thrift shop. Christian Associates has helped thousands of people year round. They have helped and helped and helped yet they ask for nothing in return. They are always thinking of new ways to help people as best they can. Christian Associates has helped our community tremendously. They offer programs for people who have been abused or are in between houses. We are so amazed that these people have given up themselves for the goodness of others. We are so proud to live in a city with great people like those at Christian Associates.
