Christopher Reeve

There are many heroes in the world. Some of them are well-known, others are not. I think that a hero must have strong character and he must do something great and useful for other people.

So my hero is Christopher Reeve. I watched his Superman films but I didn’t know about his misfortune. I study English at school as a foreign language and in my textbook I have read about his life after the accident.

Christopher fell off his horse and was paralyzed from his neck down. It was terrible! Many people lose hope in such a difficult situation. But Christopher Reeve was a real hero: strong-willed with great love for life. He displayed courage. He had the heart to live full life. Reeve learned to live a new life, he was even more active than many healthy people.

Christopher Reeve acted in a TV film, directed a movie, wrote two books, made speeches about disability. He promoted research into spinal injuries. Disabled himself he helped other people to live.

I try to study well at school though it’s difficult for me but now I try and do my best to improve my study. I also want to have such strong character and to achieve my goals in life as Christopher Reeve did. The title of his book is “Nothing is Impossible” and it is my motto now.
