Carl

by Chris from Mississauga

stick to it

Carl Christopher Belanger is not only an inspiration but he is my dad. The reason he is my hero is because he created an environment and a fascination for the great outdoors. Carl was born June 23 and he's still alive today so he is still an inspiration. My dad lives in Mississauga like I do but he also goes up north to his parents' house by Lake Eugenia to enjoy the environment. My dad is an inspiration to me because he has that outdoors personality and life style and he passes his knowledge of the environment to me whenever he brings me. My dad has really inspired me to enjoy the outdoors more.

The first main reason he's my hero is because he has been an inspiration to my life and my actions today. He has taught me so much about survival and helping the environment. He taught me how to tell whether a tree is dead or not and to only use dead trees for the fire. We go fishing all the time so he taught me where to fish for what kind and at what time of year. That's one of the reasons my dad is an inspiration to me.

Another reason my dad is an inspiration is because he taught me to never forget my loved ones and to always stay to what you say you are going to do, like if you are going to make a bird house then you got to stick to it and never give up. He also sometimes tells me to try to recycle as much as possible E.G. me and my dad sometimes go and try to find aluminum to sell to a scrap yard. That's another reason my dad is my hero.

The last reason he is my biggest hero is because he likes the outdoors and he never goes inside when we're up at my grandparents' house because there's always something to do, like get wood for the fire and go ride the ATV or you can go swimming. My dad always has a suggestion of stuff to do and that's why I think he is very bright. And that's why my dad is my hero.
