Criss Angel

This is my hero, and his name is Criss Angel. Criss Angel is my hero because he has inspired me to get into an art form that I love…MAGIC!!! I love magic. I think it is the greatest thing in the world! I first got interested in magic a couple of years ago, when I was flipping through the channels on my t.v and when I came across this new t.v show called “Criss Angel’s Mindfreak.” And that’s, when it all started!!! I have loved magic for years and it is definitely not a faze like my parents thought. I know I would definitely consider it for a career choice. Criss Angel is also my hero because he has taught me to fear nothing and reach for what I want to. I often use Criss Angel’s advice, for example whenever I am nervous or scared to do something I stop, think and say to myself "What's the worst that could happen?" Criss Angel has taught himself to fear nothing. Now your probably thinking "that’s impossible to fear nothing." Well actually it's not impossible to fear nothing, because Criss Angel doesn’t fear death, and if you don’t fear death, then what do you fear? Another BIG reason on why he is my hero is because he has done so many things for kids, and "The Make a Wish Foundation" and he has made soooo many kids dreams come true. Criss Angel has donated thousands of dollars to "The Make a Wish Foundation." He has also made an episode dedicated all for kids, where he had kids from all over Las Vegas who had come from "rough" families. He called it "Crissmas" because at the end of the show he had 2 huge trucks filled with toys and he gave them out to them. There was at least $10,000 worth of toys in those trucks. If you don’t have a hero, "clearly make it Criss Angel instead." Criss Angel has inspired me to do things that I never would have that have doing, there is soooo much more to CrissAngel than what people see. Almost all people who have heard of him say that he is so creepy and sketchy and weird, so what? He has a different style of clothing than most people do but that’s besides the point. Criss Angel is my hero and always will be. So now I leave you with the words that Criss Angel starts off every show with "Are you ready?"

Walking on water?

Now, in this picture on the left you see Criss Angel walking on water!!! Now this is an illusion, because you can’t really walk on water, unless you're God or something . Now, I am going to tell you how this illusion is done!!! First of all to make this illusion look very real they had people in the pool swimming around and watching. Now the way he walked on the water is by ………………. PLEXIGLAS!!!! Yes that’s right - Plexiglas. Plexiglas is practically invisible underwater. So what they did was this |-| now if you don’t really understand this picture I’ll tell you what it is. This thing | is a piece of Plexiglas and this thing - is another piece of Plexiglas. So what they did , was taking 2 of these | and putting them about 30cm apart and then putting one of these - on top so it looks like a little house and not like the one in the first picture above. Now each one of these "little houses" were separated about 50 cm apart. So when the girl swam underneath his feet, she actually, not knowingly, swam in between two "little houses." These "little houses" were placed along the whole width of the pool from one end to another. So now that you know how this illusion was done I once again leave you with the words that Criss Angel starts off every show with… "Are you ready?"

Levitation

Now, I am going to show you how to levitate, well at least show you how to make it look like you are levitating. First of all make sure you try this in front of a mirror, before you try this in front of an audience. First what you do is make sure you are on a 45 degree angle, which sort of looks like this \. Second you take your right or left foot (if your audience is on your right side then you want to do this with your left foot, vise versa.) So you take your foot that is facing away from the audience and stand on your tippie toes, so your heel is now in the air. Now you take your foot that is facing the audience and move it forward so that foots heel is lined up with the other foot’s toes. Now you lift up the foot that is facing the audience. So now the audience sees the one whole foot in the air and the other foot’s heel in the air. And if you do it right it will look like this so enjoy, p.s I have mind freaked many of my friends with this trick so practice, practice, practice!!!!!!

Criss Sarantakos

Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos was born on December 19, 1967. He is better known by his stage name Criss Angel. Criss Angel is an American, magician, musician, mentalist, hypnotist, escapologist, stunt performer, and actor. He is best known for starring in his own television show, Criss Angel's Mindfreak. Criss Angel was raised in Long Island, New York. Criss Angel grew up loving music. He also had a love for playing drums, flute, and accordion. Criss Angel has always had an interest in magic. His parents are John and Dimitra Sarantakos. He has two brothers, Costa and JD, as well as two cats, Minx and Hammie. One of Criss's biggest influences has been his father, who died from cancer. Criss Angel was brought up going to church every Sunday as a child and he still strongly believes in God.

Criss Angel first became interested in magic at the age of 6, when his Aunt Stella showed him a magic trick. Two of his biggest magic influences are Harry Houdini and Aldo Richiardi. As a teenager, Criss Angel performed at birthday parties, at night clubs, at home to entertain his family, and at private events. Over the years Criss Angel has exposed many "psychics" with too many ways to tell, but one of his most famous way to prove them wrong is using 9-11. If psychics know the future then why didn't they tell anyone about the planes crashing into the twin towers? This is why Criss Angel thinks that no one has the power to tell the future except for God. Criss Angel's first big illusion was at the age of 14. His brother Costa came home from school only to find his mom floating on a broom. And then that's when Costa said "whoa, you just like freaked my mind!!!" and that's where MINDFREAK came from. It was all progress and a dream from there on! So now I leave for the last time with the words that Criss Angel starts off every show "Are you ready?"
