Beethoven

by Liam from Bradford

Nothing can stop you from playing music.

Ludwig van Beethoven was a fascinating man who was incredibly capable of playing the piano and conducting when he was deaf. When Beethoven was young his father did not care for his family. This was because he was drinking too much alcohol. When Beethoven's father saw how wonderful he was at the piano he began to care for his son.

An interesting fact about Beethoven was that when he was born his grandfather saw him and said I can see this wonderful baby is a great musician already. Don't you think that is a coincidence? Beethoven was born 1770 and he lived until 1827. He died when he was 57 from a terrible disease called lead poisoning.

When Beethoven was young he saw how great his grandfather was at playing the piano. Beethoven wanted to play that well but his grandfather said I want you to be even better than me. Beethoven achieved that goal in his life. One of Beethoven's biggest obstacles was that when he was writing his last symphony; he became deaf. Luckily he remembered the sound of the keys on his piano and managed to finish his beautiful symphony.

I believe that Ludwig Van Beethoven displayed three character traits that made him a hero. I believe he displayed optimism because he always thought that even if some people did not like his music he knew that millions of people would love his music. He had courage because he played piano in front of vast crowds yet he had to overcome stage fright. I believe he displayed empathy because he knew what it felt like to be deaf. Beethoven influenced me because when I play the piano and am feeling stressed out or cannot remember a song, I think of him and remember to never give up.

In conclusion I believe that Beethoven was a wonderful man and when he died he left a great gift behind. He left his beautiful music behind for us to treasure and enjoy for as long as we live.
