Billy Joe Ferrell Jr.

by Carissa from Tipp City

I will always enjoy being with my DAD! My dad says no one really inspires him. He is a cop, he said, because if his wife or his kids (me and my 2 brothers) were in trouble he knows he would want somebody to help them. My dad also decided to become a cop because he hates bullies, and criminals are nothing more than bullies grownup. My dad's full name is Billy Joe Ferrell Jr. He was named after my grandpa Ferrell.

For short, they call my dad Joe. So I'll call him Joe while I am writing this too. Joe has 2 brothers, Steve and Richy. Joe also has 4 sisters Grace, Rose, Gina and Angel. My dad went to Paulding his whole life before college.

Then in college he went to Bluffton University. In college he played football. He loved that. When my dad was in High school he met my mom. It was love at first sight! They got married and had a baby boy. They named him Dyllon. Then they had another baby boy and named him Logan.

Then they had me, a baby girl! My dad was excited because he hadn't had a girl yet and they named me Carissa. My dad's greatest accomplishment was saving a boy from drowning, but that was in work. In life, marrying his wife and having his children.

Joe's childhood was lots of fun and he had lots of brothers and sisters. Some of the activities he did was swimming, jumping on the trampoline, playing football, baseball, volleyball, youth group, CHRISTmas, visiting grandma, etc. My dad was born in Grundy, Virginia. Right now my dad is working at Oakwood. But he used to work at Tipp City police station. He went to Kettering police station. Now he's at Oakwood. My dad said at Tipp it was very nice, slow and quiet. Nice people, nice city, good schools, great teachers - that's why we still live in Tipp. At Kettering he had lots of calls. Fast pace, more crime, pretty good city, good people, S.W.A.T call outs so lots of experiences. He really liked working there and he really likes helping people. It's harder at Oakwood because you have to be a Police Officer, a Fireman and an E.M.T. and E.M.T means Emergency Medical Technician. That is why my dad is MY HERO!
