My hero is my mother, Alice Teichert. As well as being the best mom I've ever had, she is an international abstract artist. She strives to be the best she can be and never gives up when something goes wrong. Alice is my hero because she runs her own business and still has time to be a great parent. She finds time to travel and take breaks. She loves taking me places around the world, and spending lots of time with me. Shopping is a great hobby of ours because we seem to be able to make it a fun and creative time.

Alice is of course my mom! She is always teaching me new things and learning new things herself. She taught me important things about life that I know now and will need to know for when I will be living on my own. She has also helped me become the person I am today. Without my mom, I would be a totally different person.

Alice Teichert is an abstract artist. She works from home where she has two studios, one production studio and one gallery studio for her business presentations. Often times she not only produces her work but is taking care of all the business aspects involving her career. She is also in charge of her correspondences with the galleries she works with and of the photography work to catalog her paintings. She has been involved in many exhibitions from Toronto to other places in Ontario, to Switzerland, to Australia.

She truly loves what she does. Abstract Painting allows her to improvise with the play of colour. It is a constant puzzle for her to figure out how she wants to place the visual elements to define what she wants the painting to say, but that's the beauty of abstract painting. It seems you don't need words to say what you want to say, it feels more like music to her. She calls her work Visual Poetry.
