Armida Moreno

by Desarae from Ontario

"Never give up. Work hard to accomplish your dreams."

Armida Moreno is my hero, my inspiration, and my mom. She is the most inspiring, most dedicated, caring, and kindest person I know. She was born  in Paramount, California. My mom is a hero to me because she has showed me how to be a mature and independent young lady. My mom was very young when she had me; she was only sixteen. Even though she was young, she was very hard working. She gave me the best childhood she could give, and I appreciate that a lot. Ever since she was young she has been very independent, for example now she is a single parent trying to raise her two kids on her own. She is also very generous and kind; when my little sister and I want something she works very hard to get it even though we might not get it right away we do get it later on. My mom has always dreamed of being a nurse. Even though she might not be nurse yet, at only twenty-seven, she is currently a supervisor at a mental health clinic and working on going back to school.

My mom is the type of person that when you feel down she will do anything to make you feel even happier than you did before. My mom has shown me how to be caring, encouraging, and kind. She has also shown me to help out others and put others before myself.  She has inspired me to be someone who is admired and looked up to. When I was a child I went through some hard times with my family, but every time I looked back I knew that she would always be there for me. Sometimes we take the ones we love for granted, but there is one thing I always tell my mom and that is "thank you". Thank you for always giving me love and care when I need it the most.

My mom is my hero.  She is my inspiration to be the best I can be, and to follow my dreams because I can be whoever I want to be in life. She is my family hero.
