Who is Anna Hu?
Anna Hu’s career is a jewelry designer. Actually, she didn’t study in jewelry design at first, she just lived with jewelry, which was her father’s business. Her joys were many varieties of jewelries in her childhood. Before she hurt her left arm, she was a cello musician and ever performance with Yo Yo Ma who is a famous musician. In fact , another reason which let her make up her mind to become a jewelry designer was her father. Her father encountered something hard in his career. She didn’t want to see her father so sad. So, she followed her parents’ wish to study jewelry design.

It took Anna Hu just three months to getting the Gemological Institute Of America’s(GIA) gem degree and then entered the Parsons School of Design and the Columbia University to get the master of art history and arts management. Before a gem became a rare jewelry, it had to be identified, devised, inserted, and polished. The other people must spend thirty years learning it, but Anna Hu just spent ten years! Now she is the first ethnic Chinese designer who owned a custom jewelry store personal brand. Her jewelry design has captured many international celebrities’ favor, including the pop music star Madonna, the actor Drew Barrymore, the model Cindy Crawford, and the Emmy Awards owner Debra Messing.

Why she is my hero?
Actually, I don’t know who Anna Hu is before I prepared the report about the new light of Taiwan. But, after I learned more about the Taiwanese heroes, I really understood how many people want to let the whole world know Taiwan. Of all the heroes, I like Anna Hu is the most. Although she is not the most famous person, she is the only person who touches my heart. I can’t give up my favorite things, but she can and she did it very well. She found another interest or another mission when she was at the bottom in life. Anna Hu faced the reality and changed the facts which she was the layman. She didn’t want to lose to other people, so she spent most of time learning new things. At the end, she was successful without a doubt. She had a lot of courage to change herself. Admire her not only for her behavior but also that she adheres to her belief. If all of Taiwanese could be like her, the name of Taiwan may be known around the world.
