My hero is: Jesus Christ. Jesus had a hard life; he was Gods son after all, of preparing everyone for his coming again. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary in the small town of Bethlehem. As a child Jesus was very religious. Jesus and his parents went to Jerusalem for the Passover feast. When they were leaving they thought Jesus was with them, but they did not know that they had left Jesus in Jerusalem in the temple, he was talking to the elders of the church about Gods house. As an adult Jesus taught everyone he would meet about heaven and how they could be saved. When Jesus was about 30 or 32 he was crucified on the cross for everyone’s sins.

My hero is: Mother Teresa. In 1988 I had the privilege of going to India and working with Mother Teresa and her order. It is an experience which I never will forget. I worked in her many houses caring for the poorest of the poor and learned a lot from these humble people. Mother Teresa was a very kind and Holy person BUT she also was no pushover. Her faith was totally unshakable and always knew that no matter what--God will provide all her needs and the needs of her order and those they cared for. Mother Teresa will always be my Hero and I want so much to be able to have the faith she projected to me. I mourned a great loss when she died BUT I also know she is with Jesus (Probably getting heaven orgaized and ship shape Ha) +Susan M.

My hero is: Chelsea Ray Ebert. Chelsea is my hero because she was not only a strong 16 year old fighting cancer, but she never lost faith in Jesus. She was always strong, and even though she was dying she was always worrying about somebody else, how their feeling, and what's going on in their life. She didn't make it to state with us for basketball, but we hung her jersey on the end of our bench over the 3rd to last chair. That is how much she impacted us and her team. She was put through unimaginable things, that she worked and did all she could to overcome them. She knew she was dying but wanted so badly to make it through Christmas, which she did. She made it until 12:05 December 26th. She was that strong. I'm not going to look at her passing away as she lost a battle to cancer. Because she never gave up, she didn't lose, God just wanted her to play for his basketball team. She influenced everyone in our County, especially in our school. She is and will always be my hero.

My hero is: NAM JUNE PAIK . While in college, studing to become a Television Producer back in Bogota, Colombia, i encountered myself with a great teacher who opened my eyes on the beauty of Video Art. She was kind enoght to teach us and guide us through a great experience in Art through video, and he who was to head example and never forgotten by me (though forgotten by most of my unfaithful / litttle artistic knowledge coleagues)is Mr. NAM JUNE PAIK ... wow, what a show, it opened many doors in my mind, it showed me that in all my crazy ideas i was not alone, i saw that there is more music in the air and this music is full of color. I forgot the name of my teacher right now, but i'll never forget her and of course not, Mr.NAM JUNE PAIK.

My hero is: Mother Teresa. I picked Mother Teresa as my hero because she helped the poor all over the world. She would walk up to somone and ask, "How are you doing?" She would go help other people that were sick and didn't have any medicine. Some people that she helped didn't have any food. She would talk to people that were lonely when nobody wanted to talk to them. People learnd from Mother Teresa. These are all the reasons why I picked Mother Teresa as my hero.

My hero is: My Father - Lee Stuart. Living up to the "life standard" my Father set is like an amateur golfer aspiring to play golf as well as Tiger Woods; a wonderful but impossible dream.
The admiration I have for my father is very difficult to express in just a few words. The example my father has set throughout his life is awe-inspiring. I gave up trying to match his character a long time ago. I can only strive to emulate him as best I can. I find pride in knowing that few others could ever hope to be the father my Dad is. Dad's greatest attribute, loving self-sacrifice, is a gift that he has polished over a lifetime and continues today.
Dad has always put all others ahead of himself, without exception, and never once has he expected anything in return. As long as I can remember my father has always made decisions based on what was best for his family. Early in my Dad's career, when I was just six or seven years old, he gave up a lucrative management position with a large grocery chain that could easily have taken him to a very prestigious and wealthy career. He realized the advancing promotions, while tempting to accept, would mean too many hours away from his home and family. Instead he took a job that required him to get up at 3.a.m. every morning, working for twelve hours delivering bread so that he could be home when his children came home from school. His job took a physical toll on his health that he continues to pay for even today. Yet, if you were to ask him, he would tell you he has no regrets; that the extra time he gained spending with his family was worth every penny.
Every memory I have of my father, growing up, are all good. He never let his temper get out of control. He never went overboard with punishment, though I believe I gave him plenty of reason to do it. When Dad would punish me, I never felt that it was unfair or undeserved. He always found a way to do it in such a manner that I never felt unloved. Many of my fondest memories are those of his "creative" punishments. He taught me the value of honesty when I attempted to appropriate several candy bars (without paying) from my little league teams fund raising event. That memory is just one of many my father and I share with great humor , love and affection. Unfortunately he had to teach that same lesson many times as I was growing up. His patience was unending. He taught me the value of money when I carelessly spent my vacation money playing pool one night at a KOA campground, one of many wonderful memorable vacations that Dad took with us.
Dad made sure that I grew and experienced the world in unforgettable and wonderful ways. He taught me how to appreciate the majesty of Gods creation and in it, find peace and rest. Vacations were the greatest. Hiking and Fishing with Dad, just he and I, backpacking alone in the remote mountains of the High Serrias, taught me that the simplest things in life can bring the greatest joy.
Many of the lessons I learned from my father were simply by the steadfast example he set every day. I learned how to respect others, how to keep my temper in check, how to listen. I learned loyalty. I learned to gain the respect of others through hard work and sacrifice. I wish I could say that I have mastered those lessons as my father has. (I'm sure he would say he has not; and that he is still learning). In truth, I have made some terrible mistakes in my life and have felt great shame as a result, when I realized I could never live up to my father's example. At first I was very angry that I had couldn't keep up with him, but over the years I have learned to appreciate what a wonderful mentor God has given me. To this day, when I'm faced with difficult life decisions, either personal or professional, my first thought is, what would Dad do? I'm glad the bar was set high, rather then low, regardless of my ability to reach it.
Most significantly, I learned the importance of faith. Overtime I realized the example my father set is a result of his unwavering dedication to God. While he may not have been financially successful or have had a prestigious job, he has been rewarded with an inner peace that few men have. It is evident every time I speak with him. That type of peace can only come from one source. I also think that it is a rare gift that God only gives to his most faithful followers. He has earned every bit of it. My father shared his faith with me in a way that, in my most despairing moments, I can reflect upon both his and God's love, and know that, beyond a shadow of a doubt, I am safe, secure, and loved, regardless of my faults, even when I feel don't deserve it.
If you were to assess my father's life by the amount of material wealth he has amassed, the prominent and powerful friends he had collected or the prestigious positions he has held in his career, (or for that matter, his golfing game... Dad would be somewhere in that group of millions of other middleclass hard working guys like me. But if you measure a man by the full and richness of his heart, the number of people he has so positively effected throughout his life and the respect he has earned from so many friends, and all of his family (as possibly the number of golf balls he has lost in water hazards, he would rank in the elite, top one percent.
The pride I have for my father really can't be put into words. You would have to experience it first hand. I was fortunate to have done just that. I would find it truthfully hard to believe that there were more then just a very small handful of men on this earth today that would come close to my father for the title of "World Championship Dad"
My Dad is the "Tiger Woods" of Dads.
With all my greatest respect, love and admiration to my father,
Dan

My hero is: william wilberforce. I am going to write about a man who lived 50 years before Harriet Tubman did. He was a man that should not be forgotten to the sands of time. An abolitionist of slavery, much like, yet very different from Harriet Tubman. He was a white man divinely driven and dedicated his life to free the oppression of slavery. He managed to get rid of the slave trade to and from England around the time that Harriet was in her 20s. This mans name was William Wilberforce.
William Wilberforce was born on the 24th of august, 1759 in hull, as the son of a wealthy merchant in London. He studied at Cambridge University in 1760 as a bright young man. He also met and became lifelong friends with William Pitt the younger, the future and the youngest ever prime minister of England. In 1780, William Wilberforce became a member of parliament for hull, and later represented the whole of Yorkshire on many matters. His decadent lifestyle changed dramatically when he became and evangelical Christian. In 1784, he joined a respectable group called the Clapham sect. His Christian faith inspired him to be interested in social reform, especially the conditional improvements for factory workers in England.
Thomas Clark, Slave abolitionist, greatly influenced William. He and some other slave abolitionist were campaigning to end the African slave trade with England, but with very little success. William presented and represented a petition to annihilate the slave trade for 18 years! He regularly brought up anti-slave motions in front of parliament, but all failed. Many in parliament in fact supported him but were afraid to speak up. He got closer and closer every passing year but his failing health forced him to stop for a period of time. It wasn’t till he met Barbara Ann Spooner, his future wife, that he managed to regain his health and return to parliament.
Members of the Clapham sect and other slave abolitionist raised public awareness of the horrors of the slave trade. They did so with pamphlets, books, rallies and petitions; they even promoted suger made by free men instead of by slaves. But his was no easy task, it is like trying to get ride of fast food, everyone knows it is bad for him or her yet they still eat it. In 1807, the slave trade was finally abolished! But this new law did not free the already enslaved slaves in England. In 1833, Abolition of Slavery Act was passed, just a month after the dedicated William Wilberforce had passed away. All slaves in England were now considered free men and women!

My hero is: Jesus Christ. in 33 B.C. my hero and savior died on the cross for me and all my sins. why? i often wonder. there is no greater love than that of Jesus Christ. he was on my cross and took my beatings. all you have to do to live with him for eternity when you die is admit that your a sinner. i guess that could be hard for people that can't swallow their pride, but for me i was more than happy to commit my life to him and know that i could be with him when my life in this world is done. how easier can it be than just admitting to something that you know that you are. you don't even have to be baptized. we live in the dispensation of grace so we follow the apostle Paul. some people say you have to be baptized, but just read romans through philemons. that is Paul's epistles. so maybe you can commit your life to him and he can be your hero too!!!!

My hero is: Guru Nanak. Guru Nanak was born in a troubled and dangerous environment in the time of the European Reformation and during the Islamic invasions into India. He was a great questioner and practically minded person who travelled the known world studying with teachers of all religions and became the founder of the Sikh faith.
His proactive teaching was: to love the light of the Almighty within all of creation-respect all,no one is evil, all are learning and seeking after the truth.Demonstrate your love of God by cheerfully working within your family and sharing with those who are needy.Be positive and live out your principles without fear and without imposing on others. All [whatever gender, race, religion, colour, social caste]are made out of the same clay and are equally giving joy to the Almighty
His message is the perfect, inclusive one and it is so simple, undogmatic and clear.
Both Hindus and Muslims claimed him as their own Great Soul and Teacher at his death and the sites of his 'tomb'[Muslim] and 'funeral pyre'[Hindu] where his shroud and rose petals were shared by these religions has a Sikh Gurdwara and Langar [free community kitchen].Hymns to The Creator fill the air and all faiths prepare and share meals together.
It is in Kartarpur,Pakistan.
I really understand the power of Guru Nanaks great spiritual vision & teaching when I visited there myself.

My hero is: Jesus. Jesus is my hero because he left heaven, lowered himself to be a man, learned as a man from a baby, lived, learned and loved as a man, and sacrificed it all knowingly, so that I would have the free will to choose him or not, and I do.

My hero is: Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. Mary the mother of Jesus Christ was born of a poor jewish family. Her husband Joseph nearly abandoned her because in their time he would have been scorned when she was found pregnant out of wedlock. She stayed strong in her faith even though her doubts to be the mother of a child of God was tested in unbelievable heights, she prevailed without the help of Joseph by her side. She carried this child within her small framed body taking each step of faith that what was propherized to her by Elizebeth, she would raise a son of God and see her own flesh and blood cruicified on the cross. With such fierce faith and conviction she stood her ground and believed she was the blessed one to deliver to a fallen world a Lord and Savior who would save it from condemnation and offer it life and it's full abundance of good will and peace toward all men, women, child, and all great and small. Mary represents every woman who bore a child and the love she had that never fails against all odds even when the world watches on with needless cares and worries. The love of a mother will always bring the love of Jesus in every situation no matter the circumstances each person is in. A lesson in her life can be learned by men as well as women in all walks of life.

My hero is: Josh McDowell. I recently read a quote in one of my writing text books, " Just as the old world was one of fear and faith; the new world is one of inquiry and evidence." Josh McDowell understood that and devoted his life to making the evidence of the Christian faith readily accessible. He also provides insight into common misconceptions and provides valueable apologetics against those misconceptions. My faith was strong before I learned of Josh McDowell and his work, now it is unshakable.

My hero is: My mommy- Ignacia Mungarro. My mommy is my hero because she was very strong in faith. She battled cancer for 10 years and was very strong. Even though she was very sick at times she always put people infront of her. To her just because she had a bad disease didn't mean she wasn't capable of doing other things. She was always positive and she always brought a smile to everyone. Her hope and faith was so amazing and she is definitley one of the strongest people i have ever known.

My hero is: Jesus Christ. For He came down from Heaven to earth and humbled himself by dying on the cross for my sins. He took my punishment so I wouldn't have too. This is an expression of love that no one can offer but a loving God.
He is my hero because He rose from the dead after 3 days and now is preparing a place for me in heaven with Him.
