Lockapalooza Lockapalooza Rodeo was made for kids. The story line is one that most kids face at some time or another: the feeling that they are not good enough. In a time where many kids spend too much time watching TV, one brother says to the other, “I’m bored, I think I will try something new”. The younger brother annoys him and tells him that he can’t do it. How many times does a kid hear negative words from his family or friends? Ben wrote this script from his heart. not really planning it. In school you rarely hear your buddies say “go ahead, try it, I know you can do it”. This story gets the point across that anybody can be a hero, even a kid that tries something new. Most heroes don’t go out one day and say, “hey, today I am going to do something to make myself a hero”, it just happens. Clay, the main character, goes through many trials and by the end, he knows in his heart that he can do anything and feel good about himself, (even if by accident), a lesson many kids could benefit from. Anyone can be a hero to someone, even you. |
| About Ben: Ben Doran is a young, 12 year old filmmaker. At age 9 Ben was introduced to claymations by a friend. By playing around and searching the internet, Ben self-taught himself the art of stop motion. His first claymation was created on a PC and was titled “Electric Fence”. Obsessed with the art, Ben convinced his parents that he deserved a Mac to make production easier. No toy or action figure is safe from starring in a stop motion: Ben loves to make short clips of transformers, stikfas, and restaurant toys, as well as clay. |
