From the Publisher
Most young readers know that Rosa Parks refused to sit at the back of the bus one fateful day in Montgomery, Alabama. Yet the incident that propelled her to the front of the civil rights movement was just one moment in an extraordinary life. This book takes a close look at Parks' early life, and also follows her political career after the bus boycott.

I picked Rosa PARKS  because she was brave enough to not to give her seat up to a white man ,Parks is known as the first person not to give her seat up to that man.
parks was a insperation to all black african americans ,dr. martin luther king jr. is also if it was'nt for those 2 people we would still be sitting in the back of the bus, still be going to seperate school, drinking out of seperate water fountains.
that's my black history and i want to thank my teachers mrs gosnell, mrs moore, monts all from newberry south carolina school at newberry elementary school is a great place to learn.

I learned so much about Rosa Parks.
Rosa was one of my heros because she gave me the strength to do what I always wanted to do. I am now in Seventh Grade making  excellent grades. When her and Martin Luther King, Jr. worked together they made it possible for us Colored to have the same amount of rights.
Rosa was a woman who I thought would be the First Woman President.

     In Memory of
      Rosa Parks.

Rosa Parks was a nice and intelligent woman. She did what was right for our country.
Blacks in the old days should have got the right to sit where they wanted to. If she could ride the bus with the whites why couldn't she sit where she wanted to? These days you sit where you want on a bus whether you are black or white. That is why I like the heroes Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. and his speech.
