I still have question Why did Robert Ballard admire the character Captain Nemo so much?

Dr. Ballard said, "I grew up wanting to be Captain Nemo from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. He [Captain Nemo] was a naval officer, which I became, and an oceanographer, which I became, so I would say he was my principal hero."

Dr. Robert Ballard is a awsome man. I come from a small family that has little money. And, i notice the liitlest things that a person  can do. For him I give the biggest pat on the back. He has great confidence and and determination. I wish I could be like that, but I'm want get my hopes up on anything. Just to meet him would be the best thing that has ever happened to me. Nobody is probably going to read this so.....I wish when Robert Ballard goes to look for the treasure in the mountians that I could go or just meet him would be fine.

Dr Ballard has done so  much to make oceanography accessible to lay readers everywhere. I like the way that he has used the public interest in the "Titanic" discovery to lead us to read about the flooding of the Black Sea and other research. I also admire the respect he shows for the "Titanic" as a memorial to those who died in the tragedy.
