A hero is someone that you look up to, someone that in your eyes is the most amazing person in the world. My hero's full name is Wardell Stephen Curry. He goes by Stephen or for short, Steph. Steph was born in Akron, Ohio. He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. His mother is Sonya Curry, who had a great volleyball career in college. Steph's father is Dell Curry, who played in the NBA. For high school Stephen Curry went to Charlotte Christian School. After high school, he went to Davidson College for three years. Then, he was the seventh draft pick to the Golden State Warriors in the 2009 NBA draft. Stephen Curry is my hero because he shows that anything is possible, that determination can get you far, and the importance of giving back to the community.

Steph Curry shows me that anything is possible. One way he shows this is he led his team to 73 wins this season, and led his team to a NBA title in 2014/2015 season for the Golden State Warriors, who had not won a NBA title in 40 years. He also has the most three pointers in a season, making over 400 three pointers. Steph's example shows me that people can achieve amazing success because he led his team to so many records and won a NBA title. One day I hope I can also win a NBA title. These examples show me that anything is possible because he goes beyond the limits and does things that no one ever thought he could do.

Another heroic quality I admire about Stephen Curry is that he is a very determined person. He went to Davidson College, a school that wasn't really known for basketball, and from that school he still got to the NBA. Another trait that shows that he is determined is that he got into the NBA at only 6'3"! Many people might think that 6'3" is tall, but in the NBA 6'3" is usually the smallest person on the court. A third example is that he got the NBA MVP award in the 2014/2015 season. I think these examples shows he is determined because although he faced many obstacles in his way, his grit pushed him to become a superstar.

Stephen Curry also gives back. Last year, Steph held a clinic for boys and girls in Tokyo. He taught the kids some drills and had a great time. Steph also took his family and they gave 400 boxes of food to Oakland California families. He paid for all the boxes and gave the kids some advice that they should stay in school and appreciate their family. Another thing that he did to show his generosity was that he played against the Orlando Magic and and after the game he gave a boy his shoes who was celebrating his birthday. Steph's generous attitude makes him a hero because even though he is amazing in the game he is also amazing out of the game.

Stephen Curry is my hero because he goes beyond his limits, is determined and generous. Today in sports, many people talk about all the bad things that sports players are doing, but when you hear about Steph, it is only good things. His life story has inspired me to go as far as I can in basketball and play as well as I can, and at the same time be a good person.
