Most of us admire someone or have a model in life. Some people appreciate their models as real heroes, considering their qualities, personality and actions. In my opinion a hero must be honest, generous, determined, self-confident and must be able to take control over his actions with a firm attitude.

According to all the features mentioned above, Queen Mary, the second Queen of Romania, deserves to be considered a hero, and I have chosen her to be my heroine. Her Majesty Maria lived between 1875-1938 and was a princess of Great Britain, who became the second Queen of Romania after her marriage with King Ferdinand. Queen Mary had a lot of qualities for which she can be admired: beauty, elegance, grace, love and caring for people. She was called by the people the "mother of the wounded" due to her brave attitude during World War I, when she worked in hospitals, taking care of the wounded soldiers and meanwhile she coordinated a charitable foundation. Queen Mary travelled to Paris for the Peace Conference, and there she used her intelligence and diplomacy to support the Romanian people, reminding the audience the huge sacrifice made by the Romanian Army, thus showing her patriotism although she was born in Great Britain. The services brought by Queen Mary to Romania were crucial, but difficult to understand. When the Romanian Prime Minister Bratianu, began to lose power, the King asked the Queen to interfere and use her relations, so she went in unofficial mission to Paris and London, contributing thus to the union of the historical provinces of Transylvania, Bukovina, Moldavia, Bessarabia and Wallachia, achieving the "Big Romania".

Another reason why I admire Queen Mary is for the artistic nature. She loved arts, poetry and philosophy. She continued the tradition of Queen Elisabeth, the First Queen of Romania, supporting the development of arts. She also wrote stories for children, poetry, painted her favorite flowers, lilies and poppies, and collected a lot of art works made by talented painters. To conclude, I consider Mary Queen a model and a heroine, and I will always admire her intelligence, nobles and kindness.
