People that Struggle On

by Nika from Trnovo, Slovenia

I admire people that have lost everything and still manage to live on. They don’t lose their will to live. They fight their own little battles every single day. They don’t give up.

There are people without jobs and money, people that keep fighting, children that lost both of their parents and can still smile, go to school and live on. There are people who know what they want and they do it, even though they don’t succeed the first time. Example: There are families with both parents unemployed, children in school, and they all help each other. Parents are trying their best to feed and dress the kids, while the children do their best in school or even help by working in a store. There are children that have never even seen a mobile phone and yet they play in the fields, bathe in rivers without the all the toys and still manage to be happy. Could we do the same? These kinds of people learn how to live a modest and hopefully honest life. It seems that when you have lost everything you learn how to value everything – especially the little things in life. It’s not all about money, but most of it is in the will and courage to overcome the obstacles in life.

These people are my heroes because they don't ever _give up, no matter what happens to them they stay modest and cheerful. I like that they fight their own little battles every single day. That is why they are my heroes.
