Noble Drew Ali was born on January 8, 1886 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. When he was born his name was Timothy Drew. Later on in his life he changed his name to Prophet Noble Drew Ali. Noble Drew Ali was a leader who never gave up, and is a huge inspiration to me and that is why he is my hero. Noble Drew Ali founded the Moorish Science Temple of America in 1913. His movement was created to uplift fallen humanity. He did this by reconnecting nationality, identity, and birthright to his people.

My definition of a leader is someone who leads a group, organization, or country to do something better for others. Noble Drew Ali is a leader because he established the nationality, identity, and birthright to people. Noble Drew Ali's mission was to uplift fallen humanity by teaching people to claim their nationality. He led people to believing in his mission. Those people did that by calling themselves Moorish Americans instead of Negroes, Colored,or Former slaves. Noble Drew Ali was a great leader and he gave people what was originally, rightfully theirs which was to become a better version of themselves.

Uplifting fallen humanity was a great challenge for Noble Drew Ali. It was really hard for Noble Drew Ali to get people to believe him when they were Christian because he was saying things that were going against everything they learned from their own religion. That basically means that it was hard for him to explain the Moslem religion when they were Christian. That didn't stop him; he kept on practicing the five principles of the Moorish Science Temple of America (M.S.T.O.A.) which were Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom, and Justice. Noble Drew Ali kept on believing that people would start to follow him. People did start to follow him and the people were glad they did because they were no longer in the sinful days, they were being their better self and they were not getting themselves in trouble.

Noble Drew Ali was a fascinating man. When he said what he wanted to do, some people didn't believe him and some people did. Noble Drew Ali didn't let that get in his way because he didn't care what they were thinking. He knew that wasn't his mission and that wasn't what he was trying to achieve. Noble Drew Ali founded the first Moorish American community in Newark, New Jersey which was named the Moorish Science Temple of America. Noble Drew Ali later changed the name to Moorish Divine and National Movement of North America. Noble Drew Ali achieved many things and he was always open to learning more about the Moors and the Moorish descendants. Noble Drew Ali's died in 1929 as an inspirational hero and an even more fascinating man.
